Bald Guy Greetings

Most of the cool stuff I do, say, buy, etc. originates from Janaan. I give her credit where credit is due (mostly). Anyway, last year, Janaan gave Mom this birthday card from Bald Guy Greetings:

I love a card that makes me laugh. Janaan had promised an awesome card to top call cards for Mom's birthday and didn't disappoint. Everyone at the birthday dinner passed the card around and read it and laughed and laughed. Then we went home and got on the Bald Guy greetings website. Mom, Janaan and I spent the next hour looking at every single card on the website. We were laughing so hard that I had a total coughing fit and had to pop a cough drop or two. I may have even been lizzed a bit (What?? still not watching 30 Rock? Tsk tsk...).

I subsequently purchased the complete Bald Guy greetings boxed set. And I used Bald Guy for my Christmas greetings this year (when it's just you and a dog, it's a bit sad to send out one of those picture cards, no?).

I actually have a hard time giving out these cards. First, every time I go to the boxed set to pick out just the right card for my occasion I find myself reading all of the cards, laughing, lizzing and ending in a coughing fit. So it's a little time consuming. And then I have to determine if the recipient of the card is awesome enough to appreciate it as much as I do, because I do not let these little gems fall into the hands of just anyone. And then I have to deal with the heart break of giving the card away. Sniff.

What's that you're saying? Maybe I should just buy an extra boxed set just for me to keep forever and ever and ever? Yes, that is a great idea because these cards will never stop being funny.

Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go straight to baldguygreetings.com and buy some cards. Seriously. Do it.

Snow Snow Go Away

It is snowy and cold here today. I wish I was back here with this guy.

e.l.f. Eyebrow Treat and Tame

I have never had the best of brows. As a little girl they were just two big squares above my eyes. I could hardly wait to pluck them. But as most girls do I overplucked and quite frankly it took about 20 years to get them where I wanted them to be. I still don't have great brows, but I do the best I can with what I have. And I have found some great tools that help me out.

I love my eyebrow brush from Sephora.

I also like Maybelline eyebrow gel to set them perfectly.

Yesterday I was putting together an order from my favorite "inexpensive" not "cheap" make-up site e.l.f. eyes lips face.com and noticed this new product:

"Create manicured and styled brows that are beautiful and defined. Treat your eyebrows with a hair re-growth, vitamin infused gel formula to help stimulate hair follicules so your once thin and sparse brows become thicker. Tame eyebrows with a fiber enhanced eyebrow mascara formula for fuller and more natural looking brows. The special fiber infused mascara grips onto even your finest brow hair to create a beautiful healthy and enhanced look."

I've ordered this and will report back to you later.....oh the best part - it's $3.00!

Ask The Cheaping Girls: New Music

Hello!

This question comes from my friend Bethany:

I need new music. What are you listening to right now? What new stuff or new to you stuff have you heard/purchased lately? I would love some inspiration.

I buy music all of the time and now that I can buy a song right on my iPhone I’m getting a wee bit out of control. Some people have 'the latte factor', I have 'the iTunes factor'.

I am the first to admit that my music tastes are a bit random. I have no problem spending $0.99 on a popular song that I like for just a little while or gets my feet tapping or my heart racing during a workout. I call these ‘Disposable Tunes’.

Then there are the rare gems that you find by hearing just a little ditty on a commercial or movie trailer on an episode of Gossip Girl or CSI (by far the two best shows on TV when it comes to music finds). These songs often lead me down a path to other great songs or to full album purchases. These I’ll call ‘Diamonds in the Rough’.

I rarely buy an entire album. I complete my album if I like more than 3 or 4 songs on it, or if someone I trust has recommended it to me. If I've recommended an album below, it is because I really love the entire album and I want to listen to it forever and ever and ever and ever. Entire albums transport me to specific times in my life that I want to remember. These I’ll call my ‘True Loves’.

I like instant gratification so I buy all of my music from iTunes. And yes, Shazam is about the coolest thing ever!

Shazam

All of that said, here are my music picks from the last few months. Enjoy!

XOXO,

Natalie

DownEast Dress

I have been eyeing this little dress at DownEast for some time now. I went in yesterday to check the price and while it was on sale...they only discounted it three dollars. Still not enough. I will keep patiently waiting for it to go a little lower.

I love the pleating details.

This Little Lovely

Now has a home in my closet. It will the be the first thing I wear post-pregnancy.

Sparkly Summer Sandals

Now that the weather is the teeniest bit warm, I can't wait to put away all my boots and pull out my sandals. I need to get a few new ones to spice up my current assortment. Plus, sandals tend to show wear quicker since there is less material, so I always like to pick up new ones each season rather than wear dirty ones.

Here are a few inexpensive options I want:

T Strap Sandal - $10.00

Max Rave Women's Metallic Flip Flops - $10.00

Beaded Sandal - On sale for $19.00

Nude Flats, Tory Burch Style

I love nude colored flats. They go with so many colors and they really extend the look of your leg. Yesterday at Ross we found these nude patent leather flats that are very Tory Burch inspired. The best part? Only $6.99! I wish they had them in more colors.
