Made In The Shade

This past week we enjoyed a much needed respite on the beautiful island of Kauai. On the way there, as a means of killing time, we shopped. Come on, are you really that surprised? Anyway, Mom discovered the greatest style of Ray-Ban Wayfarers at the sunglasses stand at the airport – the New Wayfarer RB 2132. The Ray-Ban Wayfarer has been manufactured by Ray-Ban since 1952. Their design was a revolutionary break from the metal eyewear of the past. They have been called, “one of the most enduring fashion icons of the 20th Century.”

The Wayfarer comes in several different styles, but this model in particular fits well on our pumpkin heads. Unfortunately they only had one pair, so the rest of the trip was spent envying Mom anytime she put them on. To make matters worse, every Sunglasses Hut store on the island was out of stock. When we arrived back in Salt Lake after our red-eye flight, we made another stop, just to check it out, and guess what?! They had three more pair in stock. So, we scooped them up, put them on (in order to hide our post-flight eyebags) and felt just like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. We did, however, refrain from stripping down to our underwear and dancing through the airport.

Tip: If you can't stop thinking about a purchase for 7 days, then you better get it at the next moment possible.
