"The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous." -- Carrie Bradshaw

Bullseye!

We’ve been in love with Mason Pearson brushes for years, but realize that they are a bit of an investment. Recently, the Sonia Kashuk line at Target came out with a nylon/boar bristle brush for only $14.99! This brush is fantastic – the combination of bristles keeps your hair soft and shiny, it works great for a blow-out and can even work miracles on a 3 year old's morning dreadlocks. We have personally bought no less than five of these gems. The brush is located in the cosmetics area next to the Sonia Kashuk make-up brushes – not in the hair care aisle. They are often sold out so keep your eyes open or order online.

Can These Shoes Make Your Butt Tighter?

Our Auntie Barbara told us today that FitFlops are now available at Bath and Body Works in the U.S. We were so curious (and kinda bored and stir crazy too) that we jumped right in the car and bought a pair. Here’s the scoop: “FitFlops are engineered with a multi-density midsole that stimulates your muscles more while you're wearing them. In independent University testing, FitFlops have been shown to trigger increased gluteal muscle response, increased hamstring response, increased rectus femoris (thigh) response and increased calf muscle response.” We’ve been wearing ours for three hours now and took this photo of our legs:
OK, so that’s not really us. But it could be! $50 is a small price to pay for a dream, don’t you think?

Instant Closet Space

If you need extra space to store your clothing, because say, hypothetically, you’re getting divorced and you’ve moved into your parent’s basement, check out the Easy Assembly Z-Racks. They are affordable, come in many different configurations and most importantly, they are sturdy. We bought ours at http://www.garmentrack.com/

"If they don't have my size, I just stick toilet paper in. If that's what it takes to get a nice shoe." -- Victoria Beckham

I Heart T-Straps

As I was contemplating my current selection of summer shoes, I realized that I really backed myself into a platform-wedge-espadrille corner last year. This year I am rotating in another favorite style: T-Strap flats. I fell in love with this cute patent leather version from Old Navy. The fabric on the bottom is so sweet AND they’ve just been marked down on Old Navy.com! I’ll admit, I had every single color in my cart at one point, but used a remarkable amount of self restraint and just bought the black and white. Aren’t you proud of me?

The Young and the Restless

We wanted to congratulate our favorite guilty TV pleasure, The Young and the Restless. Today they celebrated 35 years on the air. As third generation (that's right THIRD generation) Y&R watchers, we have been enjoying the crazy antics of the residents of Genoa City our entire lives.

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend

In 2001, Oprah featured the "Ah Ring" in her magazine and if you notice she always wears a pave diamond ring on her right hand pinky finger. We were inspired by this idea of celebrating womanhood and showing we were happy and either available or attached. We hopped on the bandwagon and have now been wearing our pinky rings for years. If you want one, check out the following:

Wal Mart Finds

Cheaping Girls understand that there are those out there who dislike Wal Mart, but we can’t get enough of their discounted items and we always make sure to check out the apparel and accessories. You never know what gem you'll find.

Here's a sampling of some of current fun finds.

Just Look Like You Spent A Lot

If you’re looking to get the ones you love (or just kind of like) a gift card, be sure to check out your local Costco. They typically will have them for less. Ours offers the local movie theater, iTunes and more for a great deal. For example, you could get two $50 gift certificates for only $79.99. We once made the mistake of paying for one full price before we saw it for less it at Costco – which just really chaps our hides. We don’t want you to have the same fate.

Cards With Attitude

We love to send cards for every occasion – birthdays, babies, anniversaries, graduations and congratulations on your plastic surgery (you look great!) Some of our favorite sites include:

Uncookedland

This store carries quirky greetings for all the usual sentiments. Send a card to someone and let them know you miss them by saying, "Some mornings when I really miss you, I cry into my bowl of cereal and eat my tears."

Cards that say wonderfully poetic things like, "Have I told you lately...Anything interesting?"

This Etsy seller has wonderfully cheeky postcards with phrases like, "Happy Birthday. Did you bring the cupcakes? The birthday person brings the cupcakes."

Hello, Lover!

Every so often, Cheaping Girls love to splurge. We have our Carrie Bradshaw moments where we must have shoes that cost as much as a car payment. Some of our recent acquisitions include:

Yves Saint Laurent
 Canvas Leopard Tribute Pump

Te Casan Diana Pumps

Even Hollywood Loves to Cheap!

You can always catch a stylish starlet wearing something that even we are willing to pay for.

Here is Blake Lively filming a scene from Gossip Girls. She's wearing the Shiloh Cuff Low Boot from none other than Payless! We made sure to pick up a pair before they sold out.

PURS'NAL PAL

This is our newest favorite product. This little bag, that currently comes in three color options (more coming soon), is a lifesaver! It organizes all the little things that float around in your purse so that you can switch from one purse to another with ease. No more carrying around that brown bag when you're wearing all black. Just take it out and put it in whatever purse you'd like. It currently runs for $22.50 - a small price to pay for organization.

Bullseye!

We love these new Xhilaration® Simone Stretch Ballet Flats at Target. They remind us of Lanvin but for a lot less. We loved the shape and fit so much, we bought one in every color.

Just Look Like You Spent A Lot

There nothing Cheaping Girls love more than find the same item for less, somewhere else. When I was decorating my house, I decided to go with blue and brown in the master bedroom. This striped pillow from Z Gallerie matched perfectly and while it isn’t that high priced, I found the exact same thing at Ross Dress for Less for only $9.99. It was a random find, but it goes to show that it’s always good to keep your eye out for the best deal.

Go Nude or Go Home

Cheaping Girls love nude nail polish on fingers and toes. Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker brought it back with her “Lovely” campaign, we can’t get enough. Mademoiselle, Prima Ballerina and Au Natural, all by Essie, are our favorites.

The Neti Pot

We have been crazy about the Neti Pot ever since Oprah told us to go out and get one (and let’s face it, we all do what Oprah says, right?) Well, she didn’t lie. This little miracle worker clears our sinuses, helps with our allergies, and we haven’t even had a cold this Winter. The bonus – it’s inexpensive. Pick one up at your local health food store for under $20.

Must Have

In our opinion, every house must have an Eileen Gray side table, we are currently shopping for one. It is a classic, complements a wide range of furniture and the height is adjustable so it works for almost any setting. Ebay offers some great options if you’re looking to get a “look alike” for a lot less.

Girls Trip

When the Cheaping Girls travel, we love to scope out our favorite discount jewelry shops. Two of our favorites have online sites so we can buy $2 earrings at any moment!
This store in Dallas, Texas has everything girl could dream of. Walls and walls of necklaces, bracelets, earrings galore and heaping of handbags to go along with it. We consider this place a time warp as we’ll walk in and suddenly it’s been two hours! While the website doesn’t pack the same punch as the actual store, it satiates our appetite till we can get back out there again.

This crazy little joint located in the heart of Haight Ashbury in San Francisco sells everything from wigs to lingerie. But we love the wall of earrings, the majority of which are handmade at the store. Our favorites are the plexi earrings that start at just US$2 and come in a rainbow of colors but they also have formal jewelry or a rhinestone tiara if you’re in the market.
Again, while the website doesn’t offer the full range of items, it’s fun to visit.
